10. The Descent (2005)
Pretty unique horror film, which is refreshing considering the majority of the movies in this genre the past decade have all been re-makes. If you suffer from claustrophobia, this movie will freak you out. There are also bat- like cave people mixed in as well.
9. From Hell (2001)
Great Jack the Ripper story, starring Johnny Depp as Inspector Frederick Abberline. Since they really don't know the true killer, the film makes it's call, and I think it's convincing.
8. Shaun of the Dead (2004)
This horror-comedy will be considered a horror for the purpose of the "Best of the Decade" here on The Sports Brief. Great twist on the countless zombie films.
7. Feast (2005)
Feast was the winner on that Project Greenlight show awhile back with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. They grabbed a director and then chose from a bunch of scripts. It was real entertaining, and had a heck of a concept... people trapped in a deserted bar with a creature outside. Ok the idea isn't original but the movie was.
6. Saw II (2005)
Maybe not as scary as it's original, but definitely creepy and perhaps a better story. Donnie Wahlberg is man, however Jigsaw doesn't agree.
5. Dawn of the Dead (2004)
Remakes can be good, most can be bad, some can be great. This remake, re-imagination of George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead, is fantastic. It modernizes the original and never lets up from beginning to disturbing end.
4. Saw (2004)
Just when you thought legendary Horror Villains were a thing of the past, Leatherface, Freddy Krueger, Jason, etc... then Saw comes along with Jigsaw and their 5 sequels. There will be blood... and it's not involving Daniel Day Lewis.
3. The Ring (2002)
Really, really scary. Let's move on.
2. American Psycho (2000)
What an unreal story. It leaves you with a lot of questions at the end. Christian Bale has one of his best performances as Patrick Bateman, who is just out of his mind. Not sure if it's defined as a true horror movie, but why not.
1. The Devil's Rejects (2005)
One of my favorite horror movies of all time. This is the sequel to Rob Zombie's first film House of 1000 Corpses. It follows the Fire Fly family as they are being chased down by the cops and hired bounty hunters played by the extremely bad ass Danny Trejo and Diamond Dallas Page. This movie is not for the easily queasy.

I'm sorry but I have to completely disagree with this list. I'm a huge fan of the horror movie and I can think of many that should have made this list. Aside from that, if I was making a list of the worst movies of the decade I would have to place The Devil's Rejects right at the top, and even higher if it was possible. That was one of the most hyped up movies I have ever heard of and it was TERRIBLE. The acting wasn't even worthy of a "B" movie and the plot was all over the place. I respect the website and love what you guys are doing, but this list isn't cutting it for me.
Paranormal Activity, even though I'm not into that stuff, would have scared me straight if I was blatantly homosexual. I felt that should have made the list. Wrong Turn did receive honorable mention but I felt it belonged on the list. That movie did not get the credit it deserved. And where is The Hills Have Eyes? The title of that movie alone is enough to make this list. It was pure horror and some of the scenes should have never been allowed on the big screen.
Again, just my opinion, i love what you guys are doing. Keep it up.
