Wrestlemania XXX Preview

This Sunday it's Wrestlemania XXX from the Superdome in New Orleans.  It'll be a massive 4 hour extravaganza (7-11pm).  Lots of matches scheduled, Hulk Hogan is your host (whatever that does), and as I am for every Mania, I'm optimistic.

What I'm Looking Forward To:

1. Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H

These two have been going back and forth forever.  It's been a long build if you will.  Should be the opening match and should be sick.  The winner will be involved later in the night against champ Randy Orton and Batista in a 3-way for the WWE Heavyweight Championship.  (This thing could turn into a Fatal-4-Way, HHH has that kind of control.)  But everything involving Bryan has been terrific, so I expect the same with these two matches.

Prediction: Daniel Bryan wins.  The YES! fans will be in full force and finally get the show ending and result they've been waiting for.  
(However I am tempted to bet (yes you can bet) on Triple H, Orton, and Batista, they are all huge under dogs and it would be a nice payout... thinking about it.)

2. Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena

Wyatt is my favorite wrestler going right now and he has a real chance to be my favorite all-time.  His promos are off the charts and now that CM Punk is out of the picture, Bray is far and away the best on the microphone.  Despite popular opinion Cena puts on some solid matches.  I'm not expecting this to be Wyatt-Bryan from the Royal Rumble, but this has the makings for Match of the Night.

Prediction: Bray Wyatt... he may get some help from Erick Rowan and Luke Harper... and perhaps a mystery partner/ new addition to the family??? (I have no clue on this, just a guess.)

3. Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar

I mean, it's the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, you're going to watch.  I'm not as in to this one as the recent Taker-Punk, Taker-HHH, Taker-Michaels, but we'll see.  And are we going to get Sting, showing up on Sunday or more likely on Monday?  That I could get excited about.

Prediction: 22-0

My Favorite Undertaker Match

The Undertaker was back on Monday Night Raw as he ramps up for another Wrestlemania match.  The Dead Man's streak is the greatest accomplishment in all of sports, but has it gone on too long?  Who cares.  Taker has been involved in scores of incredible matches throughout his one-day Hall of Fame career.  My favorite?  This casket-match seen below. 

Legends of Wrestlemania Ideal Roster

First off, does anyone else wish they had 3-D Glasses for last night? Did I miss a memo earlier in the week? Really could have gone for a nice pair with the blue and red eyes. Anyway.

Next month "Legends of Wrestlemania" will be released for XBOX 360 and PS3 gaming devices. The premise of the game is to "Relive," "Rewrite," and "Redefine," matches from Wrestlemania from the 1980's and 90's. This is perfect. I own Raw vs. Smackdown 07 for 360. Shark and I thought we'd play this like we did wrestling games in high school, it was definitely fun, except we had to unlock all the guys we'd heard of. I don't watch the stuff anymore, and there are some hold overs... like your Shawn Michaels and Undertakers, but the most of the best have moved on... either retirement or more commonly death.

That is why "Legends of Wrestlemania" has the chance to be the best game wrestling game not on SEGA or N64. They have released some of the playable characters but not a full list as of yet. The rumor is 40. I have come up with my ideal roster, it does not include managers like Bobby "the Brain" Heenan or commentators, hard to go wrong with JR, King, Vince, Gorilla, Ventura, some combo. Here are the guys I want to see in the game...

I've been talking about old school WWF with some of the guys from work recently, and you know what? I miss it. It was a better time, a simpler time. Characters were colorful, gimmicks were both ridiculous and amazing. Maybe we were just younger, I don't know. Enjoy these great youtube highlights from a strange but unbelievable time in the WWF.
