#DORK Podcast
Kicking around the idea of introducing a podcast (maybe just on YouTube, SoundCloud, who knows) where we talk movies, tv shows, video games, comic books, etc... all things #DORK. (That's what we'll call it.)
With the massive success here on The Sports Brief (literally tens of readers everyday) it only makes sense that we broaden our horizons. The idea will be that I (Rich Keefe) will host the podcast along with a different "expert" (friend) every week (or so).
Things I'm interested in?
With the massive success here on The Sports Brief (literally tens of readers everyday) it only makes sense that we broaden our horizons. The idea will be that I (Rich Keefe) will host the podcast along with a different "expert" (friend) every week (or so).
Things I'm interested in?
- Best Marvel movie
- Must read graphic novels
- Game of Thrones Battle Royal: Who would win?
- Did The Flash and Arrow make sense timeline wise?
- If (when) the world comes to an end, how and why?
- Best Video game by system
Really anything goes. #DORK casts a wide net. You can also e-mail: sportsbrief@gmail.com or tweet: @Keefe21 or @TheSportsBrief ideas that we will tackle.
I'll post all of them here as well, cause you know, why else keep this site going.
Hopefully I get something going soon...

MLC 2015
It's been a few years but I'm getting back in on a Major League Challenge.
Tomorrow at 4:10pm EST we are going to give it a go during the Milwauee Brewers - Atlanta Braves game. (I know, National League, we're asking for it.)
For those unfamiliar with the MLC, it's pretty straight forward.
For Every Inning:
1 hot dog/bun
1 16oz beer
First pitch of the game you may begin and you have until the first pitch of the next inning to finish. No doubling up. No puking. (Well you can, and probably will, but then you're out.)
We picked the Brewers-Braves game because it's on Fox Sports 1 and we are Skyping, FaceTiming or whatever dudes from Denver and San Fran. That's right a whole bunch of 30 year olds will be spending their Saturday afternoons eating dogs and drinking beers. Looking forward to it.
I'll try to tweet out some updates tomorrow either from @Keefe21 or @TheSportsBrief.
Pray for us.

Pilots Picked Up for Fall 2015-16
IMDB has released a list of shows that will be hitting your television screens this fall/winter. A whole mess of pilots have reportedly been picked up, including some gems that I am looking forward to. Some don't have a ton of information, but here's what we got.
-DC's Legends of Tomorrow
Where: The CW
What: If you watch Arrow or The Flash you'll probably be on board with this one. A lot of the side characters (like Ray Palmer, The Atom) will be involved here.
-Scream Queens
Where: FOX
What: "After a 1995 sorority pledge gone wrong, someone is out for vengeance when a college campus is rattled by a series of murders at the twentieth anniversary of the crime"
Emma Roberts is in it, previews look weird. I'll give it a shot.
-The Muppets
Where: ABC
What: Looks like it might be a TV movie, not a ton of info on this one, but who cares. Anything Muppets is tops.

Rich Reviews: Avengers: Age of Ultron
Avengers: Age of Ultron aka The Second Avengers aka Avengers 2. Call it what you want as the summer movie season of 2015 has officially arrived with the release of the most anticipated film since... Avengers 1?
There was a lot to like in this mega sequel. Here's a breakdown of the good, bad (spoiler: not much bad), and everything else.
Introductions Are Over
The Avengers know each other now. Comic book movies often are better the second time around because you needed to spend (waste?) so much time on the origin story. Sometimes that is well spent but it can cut into the action, set up of villians, etc.
Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, and Black Widow have been working together for awhile. (Proved by some of their sick combo moves in combat.)
Still Some Intros
It can't be a comic book movie without bringing in some more characters. The Avengers core is well established but they chose to add even more from the vast Marvel universe.
Ultron is obviously the bad guy. More on him in a second.
Quicksilver (who has nothing to do with the same character as seen in X-Men: Days of Future Past, licensing is trying to ruin these movies.) is here along with his twin sister Scarlet Witch.
Those three have all been shown in the trailer, I won't spoil any other new or call-back characters.
Action!
The battle scenes were turned up to 11. Tons of action, with some beautiful team-ups and what have you. Very enjoying to the eye. Technology is something!
Imagination Is A Must
If you like these kinds of movies you obviously are good with things that aren't super believable. (Thor's story, Captain America's story, Hulk's story....) But you, me, we've all bought in on this. We believed Loki was a God-like villain from another planet and we were on board.
Well, Ultron? He might make you say, really? This is happening? Everyone is ok with this as reality? I got over it. Didn't take long. But it did feel more science-fiction than many other Marvel or DC movie.
Love Story?
It's not that bad, but a a few of the characters they try to go more personal with them. I don't need romance in this, however an attempt to strengthen the characters outside of fight scenes makes sense. I'll allow it. Some of it.
What's Next?
Spoiler free: they do a nice job setting things up for the future. A few different ways, really.
There's a quick clip following the first thing of credits. No need to stay after the long-ass credits. There's nothing there. (Unless the guy who cleans the place lied to us...)
Bottom Line
I'm not a harsh judge when it comes to these movies, but it's legit. Better than the first and that says something.
