These Guys Got The World All Fired Up
I still can't believe their movie, "The Interview," will not be released. Unreal. Here's the plot..
"Dave Skylark and producer Aaron Rapoport run the celebrity tabloid show "Skylark Tonight." When they land an interview with a surprise fan, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, they are recruited by the CIA to turn their trip to Pyongyang into an assassination mission."
Oh, also... it's a COMEDY. But there's nothing funny about movie theater bomb threats, so Sony decided to pull the plug. Overreaction? Probably. With all this buzz though they may want to get this bad boy up on Pay-Per-View.

Current Red Sox Rotation
2.
3. Clay Buchholz, Rick Porcello, Wade Miley, Joe "Machine Gun" Kelly

I have no use for Justin Masterson. Maybe he goes to the bullpen, maybe he throws batting practice, who knows.
Another arm would be nice.

Suicide Squad Movie Cast
Another comic book movie to look forward to, this from DC, Suicide Squad. Set to be released August 5, 2016. So, you got time. But there is an intriguing cast coming together...
Jared Leto – The Joker
Will Smith – Deadshot
Tom Hardy – Rick Flagg
Margot Robbie – Harley Quinn
Jai Courtney – Boomerang
Cara Delevingne – Enchantress
Sounds like Jesse Eisenberg could play Lex Luthor as well.
That "Margot Robbie" who is playing Harley Quinn (can't wait for that) is the hot girl from Wolf of Wall Street.

3. Ben Roethlisberger

And if you don't like old guys, Peyton Manning? I'm lost. Simms was spewing stuff about talent. The most talented guys aren't always the best. Jeff George. Etc. Makes for good talk though I guess.

Rookie WRs Have Been Strong, To Quite Strong This Year
Five were drafted in the 1st round..
Sammy Watkins, 4th overall, Buffalo Bills
Mike Evans, 7th overall, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Odell Beckham Jr., 12th overall, New York Giants
Brandin Cooks, 20th overall, New Orleans Saints
Kelvin Benjamin, 28th overall, Carolina Panthers
Evans is on a streak of 3 straight games with at least 100 yards receiving and a TD... something that hasn't happened since Randy Moss back in 1998. Evans is currently 10th in the league in rec. yards.
Benjamin is the #1 WR for Carolina, 13th in the NFL in yards to go along with 8 TDs.
Watkins, Beckham, and Cooks have all fought through some injuries (Cooks now on IR) but have all shown flashes of being just nasty.
Non 1st rounders who look good...
Jordan Matthews, 42nd overall, Philadelphia Eagles
Martavis Bryant, 118th overall, Pittsburgh Steelers
Davante Adams, 53rd overall, Green Bay Packers
John Brown, 91st overall, Arizona Cardinals
Allen Robinson, 61st overall, Jacksonville Jaguars
Allen Hurns, undrafted, Jacksonville Jaguars
Matthews is turning into a beast in Philly, Bryant got a late start but slapped together 4 straight ridiculous games, John Brown has been a slick option out in Arizona. Robinson was the leading receiver in Jax before getting hurt, Hurns also had some monster games. Adams is showing promise in that high scoring attack up in Green Bay.
That's 11 WRs who have been productive this year. And here some other guys I still like (more than say an Aaron Dobson or Josh Boyce...)
Marqise Lee, 39th overall, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jarvis Landry, 63rd overall, Miami Dolphins
Donte Moncrief, 90th overall, Indianapolis Colts
Taylor Gabriel, undrafted, Cleveland Browns

Rand University
The latest 30 for 30, "Rand University" ran last night, and to no surprise I loved it.
Of course it could have been Moss highlights for an hour, him talking for an hour, or just flashing his stats for an hour and I would have loved it. Now there wasn't a lot of ground breaking stuff (especially if you're a Moss fan) but a lot of great insight and interviews with Moss himself and many people in his life including high school teammates, college coaches, etc.
So we have now seen individual 30 for 30s on:
Randy Moss
Bo Jackson
Len Bias
Allen Iverson
Ricky Williams
Wayne Gretzky
Chris Herren
Todd Marinovich
Ben Wilson
Fernando Valenzuela
Marcus Dupree
I'm sure I'm missing some, I haven't seen the Brian Bosworth one yet.
Who else needs one? My personal picks...
Terrell Owens
Shawn Kemp
Barry Sanders
Deion Sanders
Josh Hamilton
Stephon Marbury
Junior Seau
Sean Taylor
Derrick Thomas

Week 11 Fantasy Football Pick Ups
RB C.J. Anderson, Denver Broncos
Ball is on his way back but now Ronnie Hillman is down (2 weeks). Anderson was great last week with 90 rushing yards and 73 receiving yards with a touchdown.
WR Jordan Matthews, Philadelphia Eagles
The rookie was probably drafted in most league (I did... and then dumped him), but could be available. He has had a TD in Week 9 and then a great night (7-138-2TD) on Monday Night with Mark Sanchez throwing him the ball. Eagles have a bunch of weapons but Matthews should continue to be in the mix.
TE Mychal Rivera, Oakland Raiders
Need a TE? You could do a lot worse than Rivera. 3 touchdowns in the last 2 weeks, and 21 catches over the last 3 games. Not too shabby.
D/ST Cleveland Browns
They've been better as of late and are sneaky a playoff team right now. But the reason for this pick up is their game (at home) against the Houston Texans this week and new starter Ryan Mallett. Gotta assume he is going to suck.

I Have Another Favorite TV Show: The Leftovers
I know I'm late to this one, but I am a fan of The Leftovers. I was in-between HBO subscriptions when it was on, I caught up in record time over the weekend, and after just 1 season (10 episodes) it's one of my favorite shows ever. (Yes I say this about most shows/things.) This show is legit though.
As Wikipedia.org describes the premise:
The Leftovers takes place three years after a global event in which many people disappeared, known as the "Sudden Departure", which caused the unexplainable disappearance of 140 million people, 2% of the world's population. The story focuses primarily on the Garvey family and their acquaintances in the fictional town of Mapleton, New York. Kevin Garvey is the Chief of Police. His wife, Laurie, has joined a cult called the "Guilty Remnant". Their son, Tommy, has left home and college while their daughter, Jill, is acting out.
Crazy town. It's a different spin on the apocalypse theme. The world is still going on, minus 2% of the population. Everyone is effected by this, those who lost family and those who didn't. The characters are developed really well, great acting and a story that you get hooked in to immediately.
Netflix, On Demand, HBO Go, whatever you got, I recommend this one.

Week 10 Fantasy Football Pick Ups
No jail time. 80 hours of community service. $4,000 fine. And your top priority on the waiver wire. A lot of teams held on to their 1st round pick, but after sitting out for almost 2 months some teams sent him packing. Well, pick him back up. No official word on when he will return, but Minnesota has their BYE week this weekend, and there is no real reason Goodell won't activate him. Will the Vikings? I'd say yes.
RB Terrence West, Cleveland Browns
Drafted, dropped, picked back up. That has been West's fantasy season. The rookie was very intriguing back in August, had some good games, had a healthy scratch and never really capitalized on the Ben Tate injury. Last week however? More touches that Tate & Crowell combined. It's a tricky situation, but West needs to be owned and against Cincy this week, started.
QB Mark Sanchez, Philadelphia Eagles
I know, I know. Mark Sanchez? He did throw 2 touchdowns in relief last week and actually looked good in the preseason (I only reference preseason if it serves my point.) Fact is, Nick Foles is out for awhile and that Chip Kelly offense can probably run (relatively smooth) with anyone under center. McCoy, Maclin, Matthews, Sproles, Ertz, etc. Sanchez is at the very least a solid bye week fill-in.
D/ST Dallas Cowboys
Playing Jacksonville (in London) this week. There you go.

Week 9 Fantasy Football Pick Ups
2 games, 3 TDs? Tall, rookie wideout already looks better than Markus Wheaton.
WR Kenny Britt, St. Louis Rams
Brian Quick is out for the year. Next man up? More prototype WR compared to Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey.
RB Charles Sims, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The 3rd round pick out of West Virginia can come off the IR this week. Doug Martin sucks, Bobby Rainey blows, take a shot with Sims!
WR Donte Moncrief, Indianapolis Colts
Maybe he had a good game because Reggie Wayne didn't play, but in deeper leagues he's worth a shot. Luck will throw for 5,000 and he found Moncrief last week.
QB Kyle Orton, Buffalo Bills
He is on the BYE this week, but if you have a QB who has a bye later on or your QB just sucks, Orton might be a play. His next 4 games. vs. KC, @ MIA, vs. NYJ, vs. CLE. Think about it.

Week 8 Fantasy Football Pick Ups
Monster Sunday for Baldwin who had 7 catches for 123 yards and a touchdown. He was a smart add immediately following the Percy Harvin trade, but if he is still available definitely worth a high waiver claim. He proved in the first chance he got post Harvin that he can be a good to guy.
RB Denard Robinson, Jacksonville Jaguars
I made fun of my friend who was forced to start Shoelace a couple weeks ago, but who's laughing now... (well neither of us, he dropped him after that game). Toby Gerhardt is still hurt, although could be back soon. Storm Johnson sucks and Robinson is fresh off a 22 carry, 127 yard, and 1 TD performance.
RB Anthony Dixon, Buffalo Bills
CJ Spiller is out until at least Week 16 (aka Fantasy Championship Week), and Fred Jackson is probably out a month. Dixon should get the first crack, with the next potential pick up looming. Dixon had been getting some carries (5, 2, 7, before 13 last week) and that was with Spiller/Jackson. Add him, if you miss out go for this guy...
RB Bryce Brown, Buffalo Bills
We saw some flashes from him with the Eagles. He's got fumble issues but is a decent back. Buffalo had been using both Spiller/Jax, so it's not likely to go only with Dixon. Deeper league should add Brown.
RB Tre Mason, St. Louis Rams
The rookie had far and away his best game last Sunday, 18 rushes for 85 yards and a TD in a win over Seattle. He's their best back but Jeff Fisher says they will go with the hot hand. They still have Zac Stacy and Benny Cunningham who will get carries, but I like Mason. Not a slam dunk guy, based on the uncertainty of how they use him. Either way, pick him up!

Week 7 Fantasy Football Pick Ups
WR Andre Holmes (Oakland Raiders)
4 catches, 121 yards, 2 touchdowns last week and he was good back in Week 4. They have their bye week behind them and he's looking like Derek Carr's go-to guy.
WR Mohammed Sanu (Cincinnati Bengals)
Mentioned him a few weeks back to be fair, but he is still available in a lot of leagues. A.J. Green is dealing with a toe injury and Marvin Jones is done for the season. Sanu was the #1 option last week and could be solid going forward.
WR Malcom Floyd (San Diego Chargers)
5-103-TD, and has 3 touchdowns on the season. Philip Rivers is having a great season and he's spreading the ball around. There seems to plenty for Gates, Allen, Royal, and Floyd.
Buffalo Bills Defense
If someone gave up on the Bills after their performance against the Patriots (or before), jump on them this week as they face the brutal Minnesota Vikings. The Packers and Lions D's feasted on Minnesota the last two weeks. Buffalo is at home which only helps.

All Female Ghostbusters?
It's official. I'm making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That's who I'm gonna call.
— Paul Feig (@paulfeig) October 8, 2014
Looks like the long rumored Ghostbusters sequel or spin-off will be an all-female cast. I have low expectations, not because it's ladies, but because it's a sequel that is decades in the making. No word yet on who they will be, plenty of speculation.
Who's your dream 4 woman ghost-busting team?
I'll take...
Kristen Wiig
Lizzy Caplan
Rebel Wilson
Amy Adams
Plenty of other good options, you need to find that right chemistry and balance.
Honorable mentions: Anna Kendrick, Rachel McAdams, Tina Fey, Julia Louise-Dreyfus, Jenny Slate, Emma Stone, Kaitlin Olson, Maya Rudolph, Mila Kunis, Aidy Bryant...

Week 6 Fantasy Football Pick Ups
Couple weeks back I mentioned Chargers RB Brandon Oliver. Hopefully you got him off waivers. Here are some guys to target this week.
RB Andre Williams, New York Giants
The rookie out of BC should get a shot at the lead guy in the Giants backfield for the next couple of games with Rashad Jennings banged up, and maybe it leads to more of a role in the second half of the season.
RB Ronnie Hillman, Denver Broncos
Montee Ball is out a few weeks in Denver. They obviously pass first, and second out there, but Hillman should be the starting back. They also have C.J. Anderson and rookie Juwon Thompson.
TE Tim Wright, New England Patriots
5 receptions for 85 yards and a TD last week. Is it a mirage or could this be legit? Maybe it's somewhere in between, but worth a shot, especially if you need a TE.
RB Antone Smith, Atlanta Falcons
Limited touches, Jackson, Rodgers, and Freeman all ahead of him on the depth chart and yet Smith has scored 4 touchdowns (2 rush, 2 rec.). Not saying you play him right away, but he does have 3 double-digit performances in 5 games (and another with 9) in standard scoring leagues. In deeper league definitely worth owning.

Sinister (2012) is a creepy, turn-the-lights-on kind of movie. Could be one you have not seen, add it to the list this month. I won't give anything away but you'll be sucked right in from the start and it has an absolute bananas ending.

Week 5 Fantasy Football Pick Ups
Shaun Hill, St. Louis Rams
Should be back this week and is facing a terrible Eagles pass defense.
Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs
Tough match up against his former team in the 49ers this week, but he has 3 TD passes in each of the past two weeks and looks like a solid bye week replacement.
Runningbacks:
Jerick McKinnon, Minnesota Vikings
Mentioned him a few times in past week after AP was put on double secret probation by the Vikings. Asiata is the guy, but McKinnon should be a big part of Minnesota's offense.
Darrin Reaves, Carolina Panthers
RBs are dropping like flies in Carolina, I'm not saying he's good, just that he's currently healthy.
Wide Receivers:
Brandon LaFell, New England Patriots
He's not great. But he did have 6 catches for 119 yards and a TD on Monday Night. Maybe some was in garbage time but the team won't play Aaron Dobson or Kenbrell Thompkins. LaFell was on the field for ALL 50 offensive snaps. I'm not going to play him, but own him in deep leagues.
Jarius Wright, Minnesota Vikings
How about this guy? 8 catches for 132 yards on Sunday? Sure, why not? He could be a dude Teddy Bridgewater likes throwing to, so grab him and see what happens.

Rich Reviews: Gotham (First Episode)
I should start by saying that I am obsessed with Batman. I've read a ton of the comic books (or graphic novels, because I'm an adult), I actually like all of the movies (well the Clooney one was a piece of trash but I still found some enjoyment in it.) The video games are some of the best ever and how about the cartoon growing up?
I still find myself more a fan of Marvel Comics (X-Men, Fantastic 4, Avengers, Iron Man, Daredevil, Spider-Man, etc., etc.) compared to DC (Batman, Superman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman... Aquaman?). But Batman, and his cast of villains, is my favorite. The
So, Fox released Gotham on Monday night. The show is NOT about Batman, instead the origin of some of the notable characters. Yes Bruce Wayne is in it, but the show begins with the infamous moment of his parents, Thomas & Martha, being gunned down in an alley during a mugging.
If this show lasts long enough maybe we will see Batman, but that's not the selling point here. Jim Gordon is the main character, his early days on the GCPD. We also see young villains in their infancy stages and roles within Gotham.
One criticism that is fair, is it seems like they are trying to shoehorn classic characters into the story. Without giving anything away, there is at least one character in episode one that seems really forced. Maybe they go somewhere with it, we'll see.
There are so many stories already written, the writers of the show need to pick and choose and create their own without getting buried and confusing the viewer. I just hope they don't feel the need to throw villain after villain after villain and try to tie them all in together at such young ages. To be fair, if they did not include any of the classic enemies I'd be saying, "Hey, where are the bad guys I know?"
The first episode showed a lot of promise. The acting is good. There was action, and they didn't drag their feet in setting up the plot for the season.
I'm in. Of course it would have to be AWFUL for me not to be.
