Jeff Demps Signs with Colts (Practice Squad)

Just putting it in writing, Jeff Demps will return a kick for a TD in the playoffs this year.  Can't keep that speed down for long.  Let's just hope it doesn't happen against the Patriots...

NFL Network is reporting that Jeff Demps will be released from the Tampa Bay Buccanners practice squad. 

Back to New England?

Well let's not get ahead of ourselves.  Belichick puts LaGarrette Blount, Patrick Chung, and Matt Slater back to return kicks so it's not exactly a priority for him. 

But I still love Demps.  It doesn't look like he'll ever be Darren Sproles (great career by the way), but he should get a chance to be a teams kick returner and change of pace/ 3rd down back. 

Even with the Ridley injury I don't see it happening here. But that doesn't mean I can't think about it.

Let's go! The fastest man in the NFL is now active going into Week 4 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We miss you in New England Jeff, but we all I wish you the best of luck throughout your career.

Jeff Demps Doesn't Qualify For Final At USA Championships

Poor guy.  I was rooting for him.  Demps ran a 10.06 in the semifinals of the 100 meter, missing out on the final heat by .04. 

Still the fastest guy the Patriots ever had.

My favorite Patriots player never even played a regular season game with the team. Former Florida RB/KR and U.S. Olympic sprinter Jeff Demps signed with the Pats last off season, was put on IR for the year, and then decided that he wanted to play football AND run track. Well that wasn't gonna fly with Belichick. So here we are, the fastest guy on the team, and one of the fastest in the league, on his way to Tampa Bay. You will be missed Jeff.
