I have the new NBA Jam for XBOX 360, and it's fantastic. They made some additions from the old one but made sure to keep all the great stuff about the classic. The rosters have a decent mix of current stars and retired studs. Some teams have as many as 6 players while others have 3 and a mascot (weak).
