WWE Roadblock and Predictions
No fucking around, last stop before the Road to Wrestlemania really starts. How many of you had filet mignon for breakfast like I did? Let's go.
Pre-Show
Big Cass vs. Rusev
Feel like it's been a while since we've had a pre-show match to talk about. Usually they're pretty shitty which is why, so it makes me question whether it's a good thing or a bad thing that we're getting a main card caliber match. Are they taking the pre-show more seriously? I know Rusev has a history of getting buried for months at a time, but no shot Big Cass would ever get pushed down the card IRL, so maybe this is a sign of things to come for the kick offs. But I digress.
This match is for Enzo's honor because Rusev would kill him if they were fighting tonight. Cass has yet to look weak ever in his life. And Vince has no problems handing Rusev an L. Especially on the pre-show where they're just trying to fire up the crowd. I wouldn't be shocked if Rusev maybe gets Cass in an Accolade or something and Enzo runs out to save his buddy, which makes it hard to predict. Maybe he comes out and Rusev lets go to go at Enzo just to get hit with a big boot from Cass for the pin?
Prediction: Big Cass
Main Card
Rich Swann (c) vs. TJ Perkins vs. Brian Kendrick -- Cruiserweight Championship
I admittedly have not watch 205 Live and haven't been too focused on the Cruiserweights. I mean, just from watching Raw it's hard to because they get no TV time, but I want to like them, so I promise to be better.
Either way, the belt has been a revolving door since it's conception and it's time for some stability. With little to no story development, why strip the current champ? Let a guy hold on to the belt for a while to build some stories. I think Kendrick takes the pin to drop out of the title scene and Perkins and Swann who are the two stars of the division thus far will feud it out for a little.
Prediction: Rich Swann
Sami Zayn vs. Braun Strowman -- 10 Minute Time Limit For Sami Zayn's Safety
Braun Strowman is a fucking stud and I'm not afraid to admit that I'm in love with him. WWE has done an unreal job of building him up and I'm convinced that he will never lose. That's why this time limit makes things so interesting.
Sami Zayn really fought for this match and it produced the corniest promo and fake trade of all time by our LOVELY GM Mick Foley... jk.
But like I was saying, Zayn REALLY wanted this match and I refuse to believe he won't make it to ten minutes. I still think Braun will kick his ass but Zayn will probably get a little bit of offense in to shock him. Basically, it either has to be a squash, or the time limit has to expire. Anything else and this is trash. Unless Foley steps in and stops the match again, but he seems like he's in Zayn's camp on this one so I doubt it.
Maybe Strowman will keep kicking his ass once time is up.
Prediction: Match ends at 10 minutes
The New Day (c) vs. Cesaro & Sheamus
Everything about this SCREAMS New Day dropping the belts tonight. Everyone is saying their run is stale -- not in a bad way, it's just time for a change -- and they just broke the record for the longest reign in company history, which almost always means a loss shortly after. But why be so predictable?
I mean, Cesaro & Sheamus were still brought together because they hated each other and The New Day still wins the numbers game. So why just hand the belts off like that? Why not have the champs pull a move like they did twice this past Monday and use the numbers to their advantage? It adds drama to a fresh program and let's them build their run a little longer.
Prediction: New Day retains
Seth Rollins vs. Chris Jericho
This is Seth's first non-title PPV match in like 17 matches so I'm a little saddened, but this is an unreal match to have instead so I can't complain. The outcome of this match seems pretty obvious so let's look at some future possibilities instead.
Rollins is most certainly feuding with Triple H next. But how will we get there? Will Triple H interfere? We haven't seen him in forever and he has to come back some time, so why not? It really depends on when they want to fight, be it Mania or the Rumble. That will decide when and how he returns. I think we might have to wait a little more for that.
But is tonight where JeriKO start their true feud? I'll get to that later I guess. Unless Owens comes out to help his friend win? Or would that just anger Chris even more?
Prediction: Seth Rollins
Kevin Owens (c) vs. Roman Reigns -- WWE Universal Championship
First of all, Roman Reigns is a pussy for not putting his belt on the line here. Fuck you Crilley.
A lot of rumors were swirling around that Reigns would win the belt to be the double champ like WWE's newest rival, Conor McGregor, but I'm not buying it. I think KO and Y2J need to feud over the belt. Jericho's time with the company is fading away and he deserves one last shot at the belt. Not to mention how good their promos will be together and HAVE to be in the main event.
I think Jericho 100% comes out tonight to help Owens win. But it will only be because of how much he hates Roman Reigns. Owens will be happy about his best friend, Chris, helping him, and then Jericho might hit Owens with the Codebreaker to get things going. TBD.
Either way, I refuse to pick Reigns, especially going against Kevin Owens who owns the championship advantage. But Reigns will still be the US champ so not all is lost if he loses.
Prediction: Kevin Owens retains
Sasha Banks (c) vs. Charlotte -- 30 Minute Ironman Match for the Women's Title
Banks vs. Flair for the 30th time it seems like. They will obviously steal the show, but I've just seen it too many times. Charlotte doesn't lose on PPV and they've done nothing to build up the risk of the streak being broken, so it can't happen. I think Banks will trust Ric Flair too much who is 100% turning on her to get back with his daughter. Wouldn't it only make sense for the Dirtiest Player in the Game to cook up a master plan like this? The interesting thing though is the fact that there is no rematch after this. This is it. Thank god. We survived the longest feud with the most title changes ever.
Prediction: Charlotte
You know where to find me.
