Team Canada Basketball Is Going To Be Serious Soon

The Canadians are going to win a medal in 2020.  Other countries have caught up to the United States and given them some good games recently and even beaten them (the miserable 2004 Olympics for one example).  Spain, Argentina, Brazil are all solid.  Greece is nothing to sneeze at, and France, Germany, England all have pros.  But look at what's coming down the road for Canada.

TEAM CANADA (possible future squad)

Anthony Bennett, Cleveland Cavaliers (#1 pick in 2013 draft)
Andrew Wiggins, Kansas (top incoming freshmen)
Tristan Thompson, Cleveland Cavaliers (#4 pick in 2011)
Andrew Nicholson, Orlando Magic (#19 pick in 2012)
Kelly Olynyk, Boston Celtics (#13 pick in 2013)
Robert Sacre, Los Angeles Lakers
Kris Joseph, Boston Celtics
Cory Joseph, San Antonio Spurs
Myck Kabango, Miami Heat
Andy Rautins, Syracuse/ D-League
Nik Stauskas, Michigan
Kevin Pangos, Gonzaga
Kyle Wiltjer, Kentucky
Sim Bhullar, New Mexico State (this dude is 7-5)
Brady Heslip, Baylor
Tyler Ennis, Syracuse

Throw in Spurs veteran Matt Bonner who is married to a Canadian and could play for this team.

Unfortunately this group is going to miss out playing with Steve Nash and even Samuel Dalembert.

Ok, they're no lock, but Bennett, Wiggins, Thompson, Nicholson is sick.  Toss in shooters like Rautins and Stauskas, if Kabango or Pangos can run the point, they'll be real solid.

Team to watch!
