BJal's Lock du Jour - Sunday, October 18

A couple things about yesterday's Irish game: First and foremost, Charlie Weis needs to recruit faster players on defense, particularly in the secondary. As usual, the Irish run defense was in bend but don't break mode, and they did a nice job shutting down USC when it needed to. But Anthony McCoy, a 6'5 tight end, can't be as open as he was and outrunning defensive backs like he was. Secondly, how do you not score inside the 10 with over 20 seconds left and 4 cracks at the endzone. I couldn't believe that. Championship teams find a way to score there, Notre Dame didn't. There's always next year.

Thankfully for BJal, and my morale, ND covered the spread. Today he entrusts his faith in the Titans (+9) at New England. The only thing going for him is the weather today, meaning it could turn into a ground game. But I will say that the Titans are without their two starting corners, Kerry Collins is their quarterback, they're 0-5, and it's the New England Patriots coming off a loss. Just sayin...

BJal's lock du jour: Titans (+9) at New England
Overall Record: 5-7
